From the City to the Harbor to the Ocean...

I live in San Diego, California and much of the work you see here is inspired by my surroundings here in sunny Southern California. From the city to the harbor to the ocean and points in between, photographic subject matter is limitless here but moreover, quite inspiring. I love to photograph the wonderful sights and scenes around me, some real, some imaginary.

My photographic style has been influenced by many of the great photographers including Ansel Adams, Wright Morris, Paul Stand, and Edward Weston.  I like working with light and the way it hits an object, and I am particular to working on days when there is a bright blue sky with lots of radiant sunlight.  Cinema also inspires me, in particular the work of filmmaker John Ford, famous for his location shooting in Monument Valley Utah.  The way in which he worked with the landscape and light have had a tremendous effect on my own work.
